Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Kanto Lampo Waterfall located in Village Beng, a quiet village relatively untouched by tourism in Gianyar Regency, Bali. Kanto Lampo Waterfall gets its name from a rare type of fruit. It grows abundantly around the area. The unique fruit has a green color when it’s raw, and then rip into yellow and red colour.

Across the waterfall, the small river leads into a mysterious valley. For anyone curious, they can swim along the riverbank far into the narrow valley with high cliffs left and right.  The river is only 2 meters wide, with depth around 60-80 cm. Locals like to catch fish eels and small fishes in this part of the river.

As soon as visitors pass the narrow riverbank, a charming view will be unraveled before the eyes. Large chunks of natural rocks dominate a round pool that marks the end of the river. The atmosphere is serene as the air blowing softly, in contrast with the waterfall at the opposite end.

Green vegetation at the valley above, their roots crawl far down into the river. In between the roots, water drips from springs above. A small cave is situated near the valley. It is so small that only enough for one person to go in. Two shrines are placed left and right in front of the opening.

According to locals, the cave was formed out of nowhere after villagers had a religious ritual a while ago—it’s probably a myth. Take a quick glance inside but do not venture too far without proper equipment.
